Gary Chartrand, State Board of Education Chair, visited RCSA
River City Science Academy welcomed another visitor to the school, chairman of the State Board of Education, Gary Chartrand. We greeted him and gave him a tour of our school so he could see what River City Science Academy is all about. He is actually a big advocate for charter schools and was quite impressed with what he saw of the school. Later, Rocket Productions had interviewed him for a brief moment where he was asked questions about what he does, how important education is, and what advice he had for our seniors who are soon graduating. Chartrand talked about how he is works on making decisions with other members of the Board of Education, is executive chairman of Acosta, and has even written a book. He gave a little insight into his book when giving our seniors advice, saying that if you never do anything that scares you then you will never grow. We thank Gary Chartrand for helping us mark another day in history and sharing his story with us.
