City Council Member Bill Bishop visited RCSA

City Council Member Bill Bishop visited RCSARiver City Science Academy once again had the opportunity to be joined by another significant visitor, Jacksonville City Council Member, Bill Bishop. Bill Bishop toured the school alongside the principal and some staff to personally view the school and its students working in the class rooms. Afterwards, he sat down for breakfast with them and discussed a few topics before being interviewed by Rocketfuel productions. Bishop was asked about his duties being a City Council member where he responded giving viewers a little insight on his role in the “policy making legislative of the city.” He talks about how the council can either vote on official laws or agree on things called resolutions where the council just agrees on things they would like to happen. Further on in the interview Bishop was also asked about his architecture career in which he states he had wanted to do since he was in eighth grade. Interestingly enough, being a member of the City Council is a part-time job, therefore, he has opportunity to actually work and be a part of the community. Overall, the visit was another significant day in RCSA’s history; thank you Bill Bishop!
